We ask for resolve
or patience
we avoid indifference
and stand
without uncertainty
and we dream
until we can dream no more
We hold on for hope
or understanding
but never regret
or shed remorse for our faults
at the very least
this would be ideal
We expect conviction
or communion
begging for humanity
thriving on kindness or connection
seeking the commonalities of our kinship
our friends
However long it takes to free ourselves
we stand and wait
we move on and wonder
when will the fighting cease
when will the anger die
forging our way
armed only with the will
to be triumphant
and know
we harmed no one
but ourselves
