It came upon him
like the darkness of a storm
enwrapping his mind his soul his
moments he long forgot
the times he was alone, unsought
unseen where he bent down broken
brought down and emptied
broken and silent
without remorse or vigilance
The living victim devised
and swelled, begged
at first, then prided survival
despite the irreversible
hopelessness comprised
like a flood drowning
stealing, carrying away
the lives and cares
embracing the vile and breaking
the majestic annihilation
of all which has been built
merely for sustenance
