At once we thought there was no way out
as the darkness began to descend
the depth and vertigo befell that land
which beheld a bitter beauty
while we had plotted a route with seeming ease
immense with running water
intense and formulating hours
yet we knew it was not impossible
until we realized there was more terrain
it was cast ahead beyond our capabilities
we had no choice to fulfill
when we began to decline
how rewarding!
although if it hadn't been for that presence there
we might have killed each other
as it was the maintenance of agitations
otherwise there would have been
more doubt
less confidence
less security
more desperation
and there would have been no way for us
no way to go
no way to get out alive
but that's a mere fabrication
