I was drowning in those sheets
as they twisted around my body
pulling me down into my own abyss
when the echoes sounded that forlorn cry
and I found it was mine as I called out
reaching through the crested barrier
with the heat that swallowed me
the breath surrounded me
and in the darkness and the sweat
my heart pounded and my soul rebounded
until the dawn emerged from the wind
and the waves broke with my discontent
as my mind washed ashore
crashed along with writhing forms
to be devoured and dismembered
as you were with someone else
