About

My name is Sage Doyle (pseudonym) and I write poetry and contemporary fiction.  I am temporarily unpublished…so..to be continued on that. I post poetry and “The Journal of Wall Grimm” journal entries – reblogged from the Wall Grimm blog.  I also sometimes post writing excerpts as well as random things I feel compelled to share.

“The Journal of Wall Grimm” is a fictional journal that originally evolved here, but now is located on my other blog http://wallgrimm.wordpress.com/ which is entirely devoted to Wall Grimm.

Click here if you’d like to browse through the page: POETRY which archives and categorizes my poems, making it easier to access older material.

Feel free to comment, ask questions, or email me.

  3. I should probably wish you welcome into the blog world (or should I say ‘society’) since I have been here for years. Not on ‘wordpress’, but having had a blog.
And I should probably pay you a return visit, so here I am! But you’ve been here for 9 months and that counts for something.
It would, however, be of a certain interest to know approximately where in the world you are operating from?

As you have probably discovered, my ambition is to present Norway and Norwegian nature to the world, thus I’m living in Norway! There’s gonna be new pictures presented every week, and therefore I wish you welcome back to my blog any time you feel the need to look at pictures.

    • Actually it’s been a bit less than 9 months since I started on July 30th, so going on 7. I’m from the outskirts of Boston, Massachusetts, a bit North West of the coast. I’ve only recently discovered photography, and I enjoy taking pictures though it’s not my natural artistic leaning and I find it to be a contrast with writing. In other words, if I see something I want to photograph that becomes the artform and I see it with that aspect of my creative mind, then it’s isolated there, where I don’t revisit in order to write about it. I think it’s a fascinating process, but I’m more of a poet so I don’t tend to choose photography over writing. I guess I’m telling you this because I want to say that I wish I would take more photos, but it’s not my inherent inclination as an artist. And your photos are amazing, I just revisited and I’d like to make it a habit to go to your site more often. I love the nature, stunning. Thanks so much for coming by! Take care :)

      • Thank you for following my blog! Contrary to you, I have been taking photos all my life (and I’m getting pretty old :-) ), but it’s still hard to give you any advise as I’m not much of a poet. I guess we all have our advantages and interests – and ‘shortcomings’ :-) , but when you’re looking for motives for your camera, have you ever thought of photographing ‘abstract feelings’? Sound intriguing?
        Finding motives that tell a story, a feeling, a craving, a hope, despair . . .
It could be and old log cabin? A fireplace and a coffee pot, an empty stable- ?
Something that would illustrate the contence of your poems (or the other way around)? If you succeed, you will surely have hit the jack pot.

When fall arrives, just think of what you could be finding up New England way?

        • It never ceases to amaze me the parallels from one artform to the next. That’s pretty much how I approach poetry. I’ve been into finding the beauty in the simple elements of nature and I think that’s what my problem is now, I’m ready to expand a little. So I know exactly what you’re saying, and now I’m inspired lol Thanks so much!

  4. Thank you Sage, for the “follow”
As you know I have also been following and reading your posts.
    Peace, Eric

  5. Sage, how are you?

Good news, we are giving you the “BEST MOMENT AWARD“. Congratulations and enjoy the rest of the day!

    • You know, I’ve gone award free, without advertising efficiently yet, but I’ve never gotten this award yet. If you don’t mind that I sit on it for a little while, I might follow through with it. I’ll let you know if I don’t. A lot of things are coming up for me so it would be at least a couple of weeks. How do you feel about that? And either way, thank you so much! It means a lot :)

I hope you are doing well :-) I was just thinking about you the other day, We are looking for poets who have done collaborations and I know that you and Hasty Words have done some amazing poems together. I would love to showcase one of the poems you all have written.

          • Hey Kira, I thought that was you I saw on the website, wasn’t sure though. That sounds great. So it can be one we’ve already written and posted? I’m sure Hasty would love that too, I’ll let her know and we’ll pick the best one, or if we need to, we’ll write another one. Is there a deadline to submit it?

    • Thank you so much Nina! Since my blog is award free, I don’t get them as much anymore. I love receiving them, but never have the time to fulfill the obligations they come with. So what I do now is I make a post with the logo, thanking the person who gave me the award, then I put that award/name on my awards page. I hope you don’t mind that’s how I do it. Thanks so much, I greatly appreciate this!

      • I definitely don’t mind at all!! Me giving you the award just shows my appreciation for being a wonderful blogger, how you accept it is up to you :). I definitely understand about finding the time to fulfil the obligations, in one day, there’s just never enough time!! Congratulations again!!! :)

  26. Just happened to run into your blog. You have got a warm space running here. Loved your write-ups. Its very subtle . I guess I will be hanging around here a lot. :) Your vision and thoughts are indeed a revelation. Great work. Happy blogging.

  28. Hi Sage thank you for dropping by! ;)

  29. Thank you for following my blog…but your blog is much more better :)

  30. Thank you for the visit and the like of my Weekly Photo Challenge post “Infinite”.

  31. Word has it that you are brilliant Monsieur Doyle

    • Well thank you…I’m deeply flattered. I don’t know where you heard that, but thanks to the source as well. Thanks for the comment! And I’m a fan of Modigliani btw.

      • Half of my followers have no idea who he is, which I find very entertaining.

        • Well I remember when I was a kid I saw something about his works and since then his art has always fascinated me, because it’s so unique. I know their styles are different but I used to always think Klimt’s “The Kiss” was Modigliani, and it took me a while to figure out it wasn’t. I think it was just the angle and the faces. But Modigliani has an amazing way of capturing not just emotion, but the internal workings of personality through shadowing. Everyone depicted seems a little lonely though, but I think that’s just an inherent aspect of the human condition. I think we’re all a little lonely.

  32. I was born in Malden, Ma. Near downtown Boston and moved from Quincy to Mexico for a more peaceful life…..VERY SMALL WORLD! :)

    • Absolutely, there are a lot of bloggers who are either from or have lived in the Boston area. Massachusetts is a big place for writers, including many classics.

  33. Hi Sage (love the pen name) and thanks for checking out my blog and following.

  38. Hi Sage,
Just wanted to swing by and say a huge thank you for submitting your work to The Paperbook Collective this year. It was an honour to publish your excellent writing, and I hope you get a chance to submit in 2014.
    Have a wonderful holiday season!
    Cheers,
    Jayde.

    • Thanks so much Jayde! I’m actually planning on buying it, it’s on my list of online purchases to make which I’ll buy in blog. I am honored to have been a part of it, and I will be glad to submit again sometime. And Happy Holidays to you as well!
      Sage

  39. Is that “sage” as in wise, or as in savoury?

Curious choice of pseudonym. Why Doyle? Sir Arthur Conan D.?

    • Well, funny thing is, I put less thought into my penname than I put into my characters’ names. I just liked the name Sage, and I wanted an Irish sounding surname. It was the mood I was in at the time. So I just kind of searched through all my options until a I found a combination that sounded best. Being both wise and savory, and sharing the name with a literary great, are fringe benefits that were not contrived in any way. Thanks for asking!

  40. I admit to being curious, as I went with “Michael M. McConaughey.”

I’ve got a backlog of at least a half dozen books, but I hopefully I can make some progress so I can start to have a read here.

    Cheers.

    • Thanks! I get curious too. And that’s a good name, sounds authentic. I’m falling behind on a lot of my reading too. I’m going to visit your blog right now. See you around!

  41. Just being caught up. Lovely blog. Can’t wait to read the journey of wall grimm! xx

i could not find a way to get enough free space with Wall Grimm upload at last site, since closed site, however believe could have found another way to do free. However they express that one should be original owner of content. Once done will hand over to you if you wish all credit is to be in your name….

very nice rest of weekend Sage :)

    Andro

    • Thanks Andro! Great to see you. I do come by your blog you know, but you don’t have the like button anymore, so I can’t prove it ;) I don’t comment much on blogs, only on occasion, sorry. I hope you have a great weekend as well! I just got back from vacation, hence the delayed response.
      Take care my friend

      • No need to prove that you have been Sage, I know that you call in and your word is good enough for me. I hope that your vacation was a sweet and happy one, here the weather is nice for a change, okay the odd thunderstorm and rain showers but on the whole it’s been rather nice so no complaints. I will be calling in again when I get back on here, posting I mean :) lol

Have a fun Thursday Sage :)

        Andro

        • Thanks Andro! Don’t feel pressured about reading my stuff. I know you’re busy, and as I said before, it’s just great knowing you’re out there. Going camping tomorrow for the weekend, so offline again, nice break. Take care, and have a great weekend as well!
